OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide resources, education and opportunities for communities to participate and build in DeFi. We believe through education and the right tools people can thrive with the use of blockchain technology.

Training programs: Offering hands-on training for developers and entrepreneurs interested in building DeFi projects or dApps.

Community support: Establishing online and offline communities where members can exchange ideas, seek advice, and collaborate on DeFi-related projects.

Scholarships: To students who enter our hackathons and complete other programs within Anuu Way. Adults and children who belong to these underserved communities would be able to qualify for a scholarship towards training, college, or any continued education class related to our proprietary learning curriculum.

Educational Curriculum & Workshops: Organizing events to educate people about DeFi concepts, how blockchain works, and how to safely participate in the DeFi ecosystem. We have created an impactful curriculum for all ages between 9-18 years old with the intent to publish and distribute to public & charter schools, home academies, and more to install our own proprietary learning system.

Resource Awareness & Research: Providing information about DeFi platforms and tools that can help people participate in various DeFi activities, such as decentralized exchanges, yield farming, and lending protocols. As well as, conducting research on the latest developments in DeFi and promoting awareness of its potential benefits and risks.

Technology Hub: We look to provide a maker-space where all the communities that Anuu Way serves, can attend live workshops, training programs, be a home for DeFi community professionals looking to help in outreach and support.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our mission is to balance the odds of success for the financially underserved communities that live amongst us in our major cities and rural areas; the people who lack access to traditional banking services but can benefit from the inclusivity and accessibility provided by DeFi.

As a whole, African Americans, Hispanic & Latin Americans, and Native Americans, make up 31% of the National Population, but only 24% of the STEM & STEAM workforce. Additionally, these same groups also have a lower median income in comparison to their White & Asian American counterparts.

ANUU WAY Roadmap

FOUNDER

Mika Black is the founder of Anuu Way, her passion to help her community started in 2012 when she created spaces of expression through art and music at historical venues such as Apache, the Music Room and in the West End of Atlanta.

Her journey to learning Blockchain and the greater world of Web 3 technologies, was a long but worthwhile experience. In her daily balance of being a mother of 3, and a realtor, Mika dedicated herself to taking classes provided by Blockchain engineers, attending numerous community spaces both online and IRL, and basic trial and error. She wanted to streamline what she learned, and extend those learnings to her community, starting with Atlanta, Ga, her home. This gave birth to Anuu Way, a non-profit that helps educate people about Web3. The goal of Anuu Way is to provide resources and tools for people to participate and build in decentralized finance (DeFi).

Mika founded Anuu Way in October 2021. “In the beginning, the first task was learning what the community already knew, and what they ultimately needed,” Mika says. The existing resources to understand Web3 were often written in the complex technical jargon that is characteristic of everything tech, and a lot of the initial work was simply turning those resources into something that everyone can understand and use. “This allows me to ‘lower the on-ramp’ so to speak for those who may have not been exposed to anything like this before, but now can benefit from what they learn.”

Today she teaches classes all over Atlanta, GA helping to onboard communities into DeFi and to encourage mass adoption of blockchain technology. Her goal is to create learning hubs and spaces to nurture creativity, education for those who have been overlooked or left behind, and opportunities in emerging technology career fields for her communities.
